| Description | The fuel accumulator maintains the system pressure in the system after the engine stop (holding pressure). The remaining pressure prevents gas bubbles from forming in the line during hot starts because the fuel is pressurized and does not boil as quickly. In addition, the holding pressure during cold starting ensures that there is always sufficient gasoline. In this way, the gasoline accumulator ensures good starting behavior of the engine. Pressure fluctuations in the system due to the fuel pump or similar are also compensated. A defect is noticeable by poor starting behavior and can be detected with the help of a pressure gauge in the fuel line. |
